Took son over weekend to have foot looked at. After X-ray my son who is 10 said he really liked the staff (they talked to him kindly). There was no wait, received disc of X-ray result, fitted for a boot and given crutches with 30 minutes. A great urgent care experience, easy parking, very clean facility and all of the staff were friendly and professional.

My worse nightmare of needing an urgent care visit on a Saturday at 6pm. Surprisingly I found Carbon Health Urgent Care with several appointments available. The checkin as a first visit was so easy and I was seen IMMEDIATELY. The physician was attentive, thorough and so friendly. The checkout was amazing, she helped me find a 24 hour pharmacy to get my prescription

I was very disappointed because my appointment was for an x-ray and the x-ray machine was broken and has been for some time. No one bother to let me know that it was broken so the appointment was a waste of time

I usually come here for medical needs. I love that everyone is very friendly. Except wasn’t happy that my phone appointment was originally at 4pm and I didn’t get a call from the provider until 5:10pm.

Overview of STD Testing in Northridge

Who should get tested for STDs?

Anyone who is sexually active should consider regular STD testing, especially those with multiple sexual partners, or those who do not regularly use protection during sexual activity. It's also important for those who share needles for drug use, have had an STD in the past, or are pregnant to get tested. According to the CDC, sexually active gay and bisexual men may benefit from more frequent testing.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is crucial for maintaining good sexual health. Many STDs are asymptomatic, meaning they don't show any signs or symptoms. Without testing, these diseases can go unnoticed and potentially lead to serious health complications, such as infertility, certain types of cancer, and increased susceptibility to HIV. Regular testing can help identify an STD early, leading to effective treatment and prevention of further transmission.

One such location is Van Nuys Urgent Care Family Medicine, which is highly rated and known for its short wait times and friendly staff. Prevalence of STDs in Northridge

Northridge, located in Los Angeles County, has seen a steady increase in STD rates over the past few years, mirroring a national trend. According to the CDC, Los Angeles County has one of the highest rates of chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis in the state of California. When compared to nearby counties such as San Diego County and Orange County, Los Angeles County consistently reports higher case counts.

Risk factors related to STDs in Northridge

Several factors contribute to the high STD rates in Northridge. These include a lack of regular testing, limited access to healthcare services, and insufficient public awareness about STDs. Furthermore, certain population groups, such as young adults and men who have sex with men, are disproportionately affected by STDs. Addressing these risk factors is crucial for reducing STD rates in Northridge.
