We recently visited this urgent care for kids, and while the staff was kind and patient, the cleanliness of the facility was very concerning. The walls looked like they had mold growing on them, and the entire place just felt dirty and poorly maintained. The waiting area didn’t have any blinds, so we were sitting there getting baked by the sun the whole time, which made the experience even more uncomfortable. I really hope management addresses these issues soon because the people working there were great, but the condition of the building is absolutely unacceptable—especially for a place meant to care for children.

Had a 3-4 day history of cough and head congestion. I have a colonoscopy in 1 week so really wanted to avoid having to reschedule as I already had to wait 6 months after scheduling due to Gastros busy schedule. I got the appt scheduled quick, waited a little over 30 min to be roomed and the PA was prompt, thorough, and had a great bedside manner. Thanks so much for seeing me.

My son was exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19. I was able to book our appointment online, complete all the necessary paperwork digitally and when we arrived we waited for less than 2 minutes before we were called back. We chose to have him tested using the rapid test and we were able to wait in the room for his results. I appreciate their efficiency in our time of need.

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

According to the CDC, everyone should be tested for hepatitis at least once in their lifetime. However, certain groups are at a higher risk and should be tested regularly. These include individuals who have been exposed to blood or body fluids of an infected person, those who have had unprotected sex with multiple partners, and people who share needles or other drug paraphernalia. People with chronic liver disease, HIV or AIDS, and those born to a mother with hepatitis should also get tested.

Importance of getting tested

Hepatitis is a major health concern as it can lead to serious health complications, including liver disease and liver cancer. Early detection can prevent these complications and lead to effective treatment. Moreover, knowing your hepatitis status can help prevent the spread of the disease to others.

Hepatitis testing options in McKinney, TX:

Free STD testing and community health centers

Community health centers often offer free or low-cost STD testing, including hepatitis. These centers are a valuable resource for those without insurance or with limited financial means.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits for hepatitis are also available. These kits allow you to collect a sample at home and send it to a lab for testing. This can be a convenient option for those who prefer privacy or cannot easily access a testing center.

This trend is similar to nearby counties such as Hill County and Caddo Parish. It's important to note that these numbers only represent reported cases, and the actual number of people with hepatitis may be higher due to underreporting.

Risk factors related to hepatitis in McKinney

Risk factors for hepatitis in McKinney include unprotected sex, drug use, and exposure to infected blood or body fluids. Socioeconomic factors such as limited access to healthcare and lack of education about STD prevention can also contribute to the spread of hepatitis.

Other STDs in McKinney

In addition to hepatitis, other common STDs in McKinney include gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, and syphilis. The rates of these STDs are also increasing, highlighting the need for regular testing and prevention efforts.
