Dose of amoxicillin was wrong.  Max dose for big kid and adult is 500mg twice daily for strep throat.  Doc gave 7ml bid for 400mg/5ml. That would have been over.  We are a medical family so we’re able to check that.  We are now giving her 6.25 mg twice a day two equal 500 mg twice a day with liquid amoxicillin because her weight pushed her into the adult dosing schedule.  As a medical provider, I know sometimes calculations can go awry. Consider re-checking. Our pharmacist also did not catch that.  We know that happens sometimes. However,  If your EMR does not catch that, especially consider re-checking each time.  Appreciate you being open on Labor Day.

My son was exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19. I was able to book our appointment online, complete all the necessary paperwork digitally and when we arrived we waited for less than 2 minutes before we were called back. We chose to have him tested using the rapid test and we were able to wait in the room for his results. I appreciate their efficiency in our time of need.

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

According to the CDC, anyone who has been exposed to blood or body fluids of an infected person should get tested for hepatitis. This includes individuals who have shared needles or other drug-injection equipment, had sexual contact with an infected person, or have traveled to areas with high rates of hepatitis. Additionally, those born to a mother with hepatitis, healthcare workers, and people with chronic liver disease should also consider getting tested.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is crucial as it can lead to serious health problems if left untreated, including liver damage, liver cancer, and even death. Early detection allows for prompt treatment, which can prevent these severe outcomes. Moreover, knowing your hepatitis status can help prevent the spread of the disease to others.
