The receptionist and PA that was there today (2/20/2019)were great and amazing! My only complaint was that the nurse on staff today was not so warm and welcoming let alone have 1 smile on her face . Other than her I was very happy with our visit today .

Everything was great!!! The nurse practitioner was fabulous. The only suggestion is that you need to get all of your staff registered with public aid. ย Unfortunately the prescriptions cost 100.00. ย This is the 2 nd provider that was not registered!! Again facility and Dr were fabulous!!!

Pulled a muscle in my leg and got a appointment same day. Wait time was a bit long but I didnโ€™t mind. Nurse who took my vitals very pleasant. Doctor very pleasant as well. Both made me feel that they were genuinely concerned with my health. Offices very clean . Office staff at front desk very pleasant as well. ย This was my first time here. Would recommend.

Dr. Brian Harvey is the best provider I have ever seen. He made me feel important and spent as much time in the room as I needed. He was calm, collected, and didnโ€™t rush me at all when helping me deal with my problem. I highly recommended seeing Dr. Harvey for your health related concerns.

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

According to the CDC, anyone who has been exposed to the hepatitis virus, has had sexual contact with someone infected, or has shared needles or other drug paraphernalia should get tested. It's also recommended for those who were born to a mother with hepatitis, or have a medical condition that requires blood clotting concentrates. Individuals who have been incarcerated, or are men who have sexual encounters with other men should also consider testing.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is crucial as it is often asymptomatic, meaning people can carry the virus without showing any signs or symptoms. Early detection can prevent the spread of the virus and allow for prompt treatment, reducing the risk of liver disease and cancer. According to the CDC, hepatitis is a leading cause of liver cancer, making it a significant public health issue.

Hepatitis testing options in Niles, IL:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

Urgent care and walk-in clinics offer same-day hepatitis testing. Local MD Urgent Care in nearby Skokie, IL, is a convenient option. You can book same-day and next-day appointments through Solvโ€™s website and mobile app.

Primary care providers

Primary care providers can also test for hepatitis. Regular check-ups often include routine blood work that can detect the virus.

Free STD testing and community health centers

Free STD testing is available at community health centers. These facilities often provide anonymous testing, which may be beneficial for those concerned about privacy.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits are another option. These kits can be ordered online, used at home, and then sent to a lab for analysis. Results are typically available within a few days.

Prevalence of hepatitis in Niles

Niles, located in Cook County, IL, has seen a steady number of hepatitis cases over the years. According to the CDC, Cook County has a similar hepatitis prevalence rate compared to the national average. However, it's important to note that the actual number of cases may be higher due to underreporting and the asymptomatic nature of the disease.

Risk factors related to hepatitis in Niles

Risk factors for hepatitis in Niles are similar to those in other parts of the country. These include unprotected sex, sharing needles, and having a mother with the virus. Additionally, individuals with certain medical conditions requiring blood clotting concentrates are also at risk.

Other STDs in Niles

In addition to hepatitis, other STDs such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, and syphilis are also prevalent in Niles. These diseases share similar risk factors and modes of transmission with hepatitis. Regular testing is crucial for early detection and treatment.
