I came in at 5pm off the streets in severe pain and Dr. RITTER gave me excellent care and more knowledge in one session than my current Doctor did in 4 months! Think he's great and would recommend all clients in pain to see him. Thanks D.G.

Iโ€™m not happy that no one told me the medication Paxlovid would cost me $600 unless I had a coupon in which case it would cost me $25

So amazing these caring souls that work here! I came in last minute with my daughter and in the kerfuffle of illness and getting her there on time we forgot her ID. The appointment I had originally was at 6:30 and they close at 7. We didnโ€™t get back there with the ID until 6:50. The angel at the front desk called me to see if I was still coming! They helped us thoroughly, thoughtfully and with incredible kindness. Thank you immensely.

The PA was kind and non alarming!ย  I didnโ€™t feel that way with the previous visit 2 days before! She explained things carefully, so I understood what I was dealing with and prescribed the correct medication! The previous PA told me I would get a call with the results of my urine ย test, but I never got that call and my antibiotics needed to be changed. I developed a fever and came in again! Not sure why I never got that call???

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

Those who should consider getting tested for hepatitis include individuals who have been exposed to the virus, those who have had unprotected sex with multiple partners, drug users who share needles, and people with a history of liver disease or liver cancer. It's also recommended for anyone who has had close contact with someone diagnosed with hepatitis, or if you were born to a mother with hepatitis. According to the CDC, testing is also recommended for all adults in the United States, regardless of risk factors, as hepatitis can often be asymptomatic.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is crucial because it can lead to serious health complications if left untreated, including liver damage, cirrhosis, liver cancer, and even death. Early detection allows for prompt treatment and can prevent the spread of the virus to others. According to the CDC, many people with hepatitis do not know they have it until they experience symptoms, which can take decades to appear. By getting tested, you can take steps to protect your health and the health of those around you.

Hepatitis testing options in Lake Forest, CA:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

Primary care providers

Your primary care provider can also provide testing for hepatitis. If you don't have a primary care provider, Solv can help you find a trusted healthcare provider in your area.

Free STD testing and community health centers

There are also community health centers in and around Lake Forest that offer free or low-cost hepatitis testing. These centers are a crucial resource for those without insurance or those who cannot afford testing.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits for hepatitis are another option. These kits can be ordered online, used at home, and then sent back to a lab for analysis. Results are typically available within a few days.

Prevalence of hepatitis in Lake Forest

While specific data for Lake Forest is not readily available, Orange County, where Lake Forest is located, has seen a steady increase in hepatitis cases over the last few years. This trend aligns with national data from the CDC, which shows a rise in hepatitis cases across the United States.

Risk factors related to hepatitis in Lake Forest

Risk factors for hepatitis in Lake Forest are similar to those in other parts of the country. These include unprotected sex, drug use, close contact with someone who has hepatitis, and having a mother who had the virus at the time of birth.

Other STDs in Lake Forest

In addition to hepatitis, other STDs such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, and syphilis are also prevalent in Lake Forest and the surrounding areas. As with hepatitis, testing for these STDs is crucial for early detection and treatment. Testing for these STDs can be done at the same locations as hepatitis testing, including urgent care centers, primary care providers, community health centers, and at home with a testing kit.
